The 30th Trainee Teachers’ Club collaborated with student leaders from Hong Kong University (HKU) to host the inaugural NIE-HKU Virtual Collaboration. We held the first Orientation Session on 28 February 2021, where eight students from each university had the opportunity to play games and interact with their buddies.
The second NIE-HKU Virtual Collaboration session was held on 7 March 2021. This was our first Webinar Session, where a pair of students from both NIE and HKU shared on the theme of Education Systems in both Hong Kong and Singapore. Participants then had a good discussion on the different types of schools as well as the possible academic paths of students.
The third NIE-HKU Virtual Collaboration session was held on 14 March 2021. This was our second Webinar Session, where a pair of students from both NIE and HKU shared on the theme of Educational Reforms in both Hong Kong and Singapore. Participants also had an interesting movie review session as they discussed the popular Hong Kong movie, Little Big Master.
The fourth NIE-HKU Virtual Collaboration session was held on 21 March 2021. This was our third Webinar Session. This time, a pair of students from both NIE and HKU shared on the theme of Curriculum Structures in Hong Kong and Singapore. Participants also reviewed the popular Singapore movie, I Not Stupid 2, followed by fruitful discussions between the participants.
The fifth and final NIE-HKU Virtual Collaboration session was held on 28 March 2021. Participants took part in games with their buddies to win prizes to commemorate the new friendships forged over the past five weeks, and shared their personal reflections.
They had also prepared and mailed gifts that were shared with their buddies.
